Somedays Go

I don't plan these things

Another Semester of school has come to a close. Months go by quicker when you are not watching. Soon we will be into summer and we won't even be able to render our accounts.
Living a life connected to seasons is interesting. You are always looking forward, and making efforts to attribute a change in weather to the start of a new season.

Winter
I think of winter as cold white death. I am not trying to aim for the connotation you are imagining. It is like a flower that is snowed upon. The flower stands yellow for some time then the frost grip of winter stops the flowers growth. It doesn't kill it. At least I don't think so. It holds it still. As still as anything can ever be. The flower is in a state of reflection. It is the balance to the days of summer, when little thought occurs, and when life is moved by action.

Reunion Tour 2008

Back at the house that was built on a sandy foundation maybe 40 years ago.

A short blonde head talks to me about "Goo and guts." My mind is in another place though.
It's as fragmented as the water that pours from the sky as rain and I wish it would puddle to give me some kind of reflection but it won't.
This is supposed to be a bad storm. The rain hits the pavement with intention and aggression.

Why the fuck am I here?

I can't really tell you.

It is nice to see some people that I have missed for quite some time. It is nice to see the ocean. It is nice to surprise people.
But there are other things too, certain doors that are better not to knock on and to let be.

A lot of kids from high school bum me out. Friends with kids, strapped for cash, and the listless problems of being married at 20.
Thats a hard reality pill to swallow.

I could move a couple of things around and be in New York for dinner tomorrow.

My life doesn't make sense.

I am afraid I am becoming the people I used to hate. I don't have an attention span for anything mildly uninteresting. Arrogance comes out of my mouth without knowing it sometimes. " I don't have time for that." "Are they paying me?"

That is how my days run.
Soon enough I'll be able to buy out the sky and make the call on when it rains too.

Just watch me.

Sitting on my six by three and half foot bed. The paisley sheets roll themselves across the brown carpeted floor.

And I am here.

That means I can't be there
Though my tongue cannot forget the tastes of the salty Mediterranean or the full bodied red wine of san nicola passing over the curves of my tongue.
Nas Is Like comes through the speakers on the Lower East Side and bounces off the chests of young men as they stand against the chain link fence with their new era hats and their hands in their pockets. Eyes watching. A train passes overhead.

Eating popcorn in the dark, her knee touches mine. An energy unquantifiable comes to me in that coarse red seat.

Notes on being a child

I remember being a small child. I remember the adult sized medium purple and yellow Laker's jacket my mother bought for me at Sears. It was like wearing a full body suit. I would play on the swings at my elementary school, with the zipper pulled up to my nose and the hood strapped down gripping my shaggy brown hair. I pretended to be flying like my dad.
I moved away when I was half way through the third grade. I loved a girl named Katie. She was awesome. I was a very quiet child and never had any gull to speak to her. Then two years passed and I came back to visit my elementary school. I came back to see those swings, to see the rocket I would scale, and to see Katie. The rocket seemed much less grandiose, the swings seemed less like slingshots into the atmosphere, and Katie seemed much more plain.
Hold on Keep going
